Deconstructed Caramel Apple

All the yummy fall flavor right from your own kitchen, no trip to the orchard required (though that’s fun too).

Ingredients:

Apple

Peanuts* or other topping of choice (pretzel pieces, sprinkles, rice crispy etc.)

  1. Cut off sides of apple and cut into slices.

  2. Put a small amount of caramel dipping sauce in each bowl.

  3. Put toppings in each bowl.

  4. Divide up apples into each bowl, dip into caramel, and then dip into toppings and enjoy.

For Christmas a few years ago, I was gifted a Faberware ceramic knife*. It is my favorite knife for cutting fruit. No need for a fancy apple slicer, (those always frustrate me and I never seem to cut the apple straight.) I just cut two opposite sides off of an apple, and then turn the apple and cut the other two sides, leaving the core in the center. Then cut into slices, I find that cutting into slices by hand makes them nice and thin and crispy, which is also better than using an apple slicer which cuts them into thick slices.
