Welcome back! In my last post I shared about the free Bible based preschool curriculum we are using.  If you are just jumping in, or you want to go back and read about that, you can find that in my other post here.

The second curriculum we are using this year is from a company called Harbor & Sprout.  They offer a variety of unit studies and educational resources that you can purchase and print to use at home. We have purchased a few of their morning basket sets for younger children such as their Construction Morning Basket* , the Home Economics Morning Basket* and the Agriculture Morning Basket* in addition to the Letter Morning Basket A-Z + Starter Pack* which is supplementing our Bible based curriculum.

This curriculum is pretty affordable, often units or packs are around $12 (at the time of writing this post), and I’m so excited to be an affiliate with them. Click here* to use my referral link and use coupon code KENZIE for 10% off**!

The Letter Morning Basket A-Z + Starter Pack* is the unit we are using right now, and each letter comes with a variety of activities, from lacing, to seek and find, to sight words, to letter matching, rainbow letter tracing, coloring sheets and so much more.  There’s a cute poem for the animal that goes with each letter, and in the A-Z pack there is a chart to track all the letters your child has mastered.

Because of the age of our kiddos, and just in general for reusability and durability, we chose to cut out and laminate the pieces.  Another benefit of this, is that it allows you to write on the material with dry erase markers and wipe off and use again.  We’ve done this for counting flashcards, find and circle the letter, and the scavenger hunt.  Not only does this save on paper, but dry erase markers tend to be pretty fun for kids to use too.

The other subject based units are very beautiful and well done also.  They have some similar elements and can be a really fun way to engage your child in learning by adding a fun twist with a topic they may be very interested in.

Units very depending on the age group you are looking for, and some even come with the lesson plans. We have mainly only really explored the units (morning baskets) for younger children right now, but did purchase one unit study to check it out. Of course we got the Construction Unit (Patchwork) Study* since our son loves trucks right now, and have been very pleased with the quality and content of everything overall. We plan to use something like these for our summer curriculum as we are trying to do a year round school tri-mester with a couple weeks of break per tri-master.  I think a unit (patchwork) study like this would be awesome for children in the summer, even if you aren’t homeschooling.

If you are curious about trying out Harbor & Sprout* for your family you can check them out here*.  Below are links to some of the units we have purchased.

As always, praying God’s blessing over you, and we wish you the best if you are also considering homeschooling for your family!
