Christmas Morning Butterscotch Breakfast Bread
This bread is ooey gooey on top and oh so delicious. A family recipe that we have made for years. My mom makes this bread every Christmas morning. It has been such a wonderful tradition that we now carry on in our house!
This recipe has boasted many names throughout the years. My husband and son lovingly call this monkey bread, as that is what it most resembles. My mom calls it cinnamon coffee cake, though my version of the recipe doesn’t include cinnamon, and the main star of the show is butterscotch pudding, which is why I call mine Butterscotch Breakfast Bread.
Make this bread using frozen rolls from the grocery store, or if you’re feeling fancy I'm betting you can use your own homemade rolls instead-I have yet to try this, but I am looking forward to it as I am getting back into sourdough. I anticipate just adding the rolls to the pan during the final rise.
Quick and Easy Breakfast
This bread is so easy to make and really comes together fairly quickly, the biggest thing you need to account for is rise time for the rolls, but the assembly takes mere minutes as you go. The smell of this bread will warm your home as it bakes and leave you feeling ready for Christmas morning. So grab you bundt pan and the recipe below, and come bake some delicious Butterscotch Breakfast Bread! (Jump below to printable recipe card.)
Spray Bundt pan. Add pecans to the bottom of the pan.
Add half pudding mix on bottom with pecans. Add rolls on top and let rise. (I forgot to put the pudding on the bottom of mine and they turned out fine-praise the Lord!)
When finished rising add other half pudding mix and melted butter. (Again, I added the whole pudding to top and it still came out fine.)
Bake for 20-25 mins at 350 F. Cover with foil first 10 mins to prevent pudding from burning on top.
Flip over onto serving platter immediately after coming out of oven. (I used a cake stand to serve mine this time.)
I have customized the recipe to meet our family's preferences, and I’m so excited to share it with you. The PDF recipe card is linked below. Let me know in the comments what your family eats for breakfast on Christmas morning. Do you have any fun traditions?
